Meet The Band

Matthew Lockey

Lead Vocals / Rhythm Guitar / Harp

I’m a guitarist with nearly 20 years of playing and a lifelong singer. Born in Hoquiam, WA, I fell in love with island jams while pursuing my Master’s in Educational Administration at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I’m grateful to be surrounded by such talented musicians and to share that island-inspired sound with audiences.

    Feyet Munshikpu

    Bass

Hi, I’m Feyet Munshikpu. Originally from Cameroon, I’m a bassist and multi-instrumentalist with a deep love for feel and groove. Before moving out to the Pacific Northwest, I was a founding member of the Sioux Falls, South Dakota band Tuff Roots. My playing is all about locking in that rhythmic, melodic, and groovy foundation that makes people want to move. When I’m not holding down the low end on stage, I spend a lot of my time tinkering in the studio with music production and mixing, always dialing in the pocket and sonic vibe.

      Bryan Jones

      Drums

Hi, my name is Bryan Jones, and I have over 30 years behind the kit.  My foundation is in jazz.  Throughout school, I played in multiple jazz bands, concert bands, and jass choirs, and that experience shaped the player I am today.
Over the years, I've had the chance to perform with some amazing groups, including Slacktide Soul, Ian Ayers and the Soul Purpose, Longstride, and The Staxx Brothers, to name a few.  I've played countless clubs and festivals around the Pacific Northwest and beyond, from The Showbox to Bite of Seattle, Folklife Festival, Marymoore Park, The World Ski and Snowboard Festival in Whistler, BC, and many more.
These days, I call Camano Island home, where I live with my family and continue doing what I love most - making good music with good people.

         Henry Smith-Hunt

        Trombone / Backing Vocals

I'm a trombonist and educator from the Seattle area, where I've been playing for over 15 years and performing professionally since 2022.  I teach private trombone at Shoreline Community College and stay active in both jaszz and contemporary music scenes.  Originally from Mountlake Terrace and based in Newcastle, I've had the opportunity to perform and record with saxophonists Jeff Kashiwa and Nelson Rangell, including appearances on Kashiwa's latest record, tour dates in London, and frequent performances a Dimitriou's Jazz Alley.  My playing is rooted in big band tradition, but I've grown to love the flexibility and color of contemporary jazz as I've been immersed in the music of Jeff Kashiwa and other smooth jazz artists - spaces where I feel my sound truly comes alive.

              Dan Warbington

              Lead Guitar

Six strings and full of heart!  Dan "Danny Boy" Warbington brings great sounds and vibes to Mattlock and the Keys.  A sonic expeditionary and tone freak, his lead guitar playing is tasteful and memorable.  He is a founding member, songwriter, and guitarist for Northwest bands Far Far Far and Alt Vault.  He lives and teaches in Seattle.
